Nestled in the mountains of eastern Ethiopia, Harar is a city of profound historical and cultural significance, recognized as one of the most important Islamic cities in the world. Just an hour’s drive from Dire Dawa, Harar presents a stark contrast in climate—cool, humid, and challenging for vegetable cultivation. Yet, against these odds, our skilled farmers in the rural villages surrounding Harar successfully produce high-quality vegetables year-round. By working closely with the local Bureau of Agriculture, and The University of Haramaya, we provide hands-on training to farmers and development agents, ensuring a steady supply of fresh produce to the city and nearby towns.
