Located in the arid and hot lowlands of eastern Ethiopia, Dire Dawa is a city where agriculture faces immense challenges. However, despite the harsh climate, our dedicated farmers in the surrounding rural villages are proving that with the right knowledge and techniques, sustainable farming is possible. Through our initiative, we identify the most suitable vegetable varieties for the region and provide specialized training to lead farmers and trainers. In close collaboration with the local administration, we equip farmers with modern, climate-resilient farming methods, helping them achieve economic independence while ensuring a stable food supply for the city and beyond.
